Mpls Fish Store Recommendations

Post by Tangalanglang on Sun Feb 07, 2010 3:44 pm

Goin' to the City on Tues, any particular LFS I need to Patronize, I will be in the UM West Bank area. (job interviewing I'm happy to say). I am pretty much just looking for some maintenance crew type characters.
Thanks in advance! Very Happy

Salt Water Empire, Something Fishy, World of fish, Ocean Devotion, Discovery Aquatics. These are all the important ones to go to.

World of Fish and Something Fishy are about a block apart beside the airport. World of Fish seems kind of old and dark and old dark tanks, but they have a really good reputation and have a good staff. Something Fishy, is large and open, lots of tanks but did not have very much in them the two occasions I was there. I thought they were new and just getting established. Apparently not they have been there a long time. Anyway, I made purchases at WOF but not at SF. I have not been to Salt Water Empire, maybe you could give a review of your visits.

Sounds fun. Remember I'm still learning...I will probably be better reporting back on like PR and not so much the different corals stocked. Will plan to see at least a couple of them!!

Something Fishy and Saltwater Empire are really close to each other. I honestly liked Saltwater Empire better for coral selection for sure. Both places were awesome in the customer service side of things.

I have not been to many other places in the cities but toss up some reviews and maybe I'll have a new place to go next time.
