WOW, good question...we went through this just a couple of months ago. We have a sequence dart for our closed loop, and that thing is awesome. It is suppose to be one of the most efficient pumps out there too. How much are you looking to spend though?

reeflo is an external sump pump though, i think she needs like a submersible pump or am i wrong. Because internal pumps i prefer the mag pump even though it gives off a bit of heat. External i am with dedex, reeflo sequence, i am very impressed with my reeflo sequence dart.

Eheim (or is it Ehiem?) make very reliable and somewhat pricey pumps. My return pump is external, but I have used Mag Drive pumps in the past with excellent success. The Mag Drives, as well as any other in sump pump, put off a great deal of heat though.

I have a quiet one 6000 running an aquarium now,... I like it, it is easy to get apart to clean, does not really put any heat into the water at all, and is pretty quiet too. 1" in, 1" out.

I use a Mag 9.5 for my return pump I've had it now for over 2 years and it's never done me wrong, they do produce a bit of heat but then again what internal pump don't.
